The award obtained is FdA Creative Industries. The FdA Creative Industries at Wigan & Leigh College holds a number of creative pathways for undergraduates. Students can select from one of the following pathways: Fashion & Textiles Graphic Design Media Visual Art The Graphic Design pathway covers a range of modules. Graphic Design is everywhere from magazines to televised adverts and they all start with a concept. The opportunity to develop the next big brand or direct mail campaign starts with an education. The programme focuses on ideas and innovation, delivered using the latest cloud-based industry software and the movement from the more traditional print based and web based design solutions to interactive and moving graphics. The FdA encompasses visits to design consultancies and advertising agencies and the opportunity to work alongside local design practitioners. The course provides students with foundations and the graphic design skills required for the expansive and creative industry.

Core Units - Creative Thinking; Contextual Studies; Contemporary Contextual Studies for Creative Industries; Professional Practice. Specialist Units - Applied Digistal Design; Graphic Communication in Context; Introduction to Graphic Communication; Communication Craft Skills.
