The BA (Hons) Business Management provides the opportunity to study contemporary issues in business management and enhance your employability with an applied practical focus.
Course Details - Modules
In Year 1 (Level 4) students are required to study six mandatory 20-credit modules: Study Skills & Personal Development; Business Environment and the Law; Marketing Management; Introduction to Human Resources; Introduction to Finance; Tourism and Events Operations (specialist module).
In Year 2 (Level 5) students are required to study six 20-credit modules (4 mandatory modules and 2 modules chosen from a range of options). Mandatory modules: Management in Organisations; Project Management; Developing Professional Practice; Event Management and Event Design. Optional modules of which 2 will be chosen: Small Business Management; Gastronomy and Wine; Visitor Attraction Management; Visual Merchandising and Psychology; Financial Management; Sustainable Development
In Year 3 (Level 6) students are required to undertake five modules (four 20-credit mandatory modules and one 40-credit module from a choice of two optional modules). Mandatory modules: Enterprise Project; Human Resources & Organisational Development; Financial & Revenue Management; Strategic Business Management. One of the following optional 40-credit modules: Dissertation; Consultancy project.
Compulsory modules help students to build academic competence by exploring underpinning theories while developing practical and transferable skills. Optional modules encourage more self-managed learning skills. Module availability may be subject to change. The timetable will be available in August 2018.
