About the programme
This programme will provide you with the knowledge and skills you require to be a registered paramedic. You will develop the confidence and compassion to deliver high quality emergency care in a range of settings.
Theory and clinical simulation skills learnt at our state-of-the-art campus will be applied and integrated in practical settings. Practice based opportunities will be both within the Scottish Ambulance Service and in a range of associated health and social care settings.
Opportunities to work with a team of healthcare professionals will develop an integrated approach to health and social care required for contemporary paramedic practice.
The programme will integrate theory and practice-based learning. On successful completion students will be proficient to undertake the full scope of paramedic practice and be eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC.
The programme will be modular in structure combining classroom based face-to-face lectures, workshops and tutorials, simulated practice learning and Objective Clinical Skills Examination preparation, and online digital delivery. Topics will include clinical science, health psychology, public health, ethics, leadership, management and research.
