Course Summary

This 4-year Honours programme will prepare you intellectually and practically for success in the dynamic, competitive, multi-platform world of journalism – with the opportunity to specialise in Sports Journalism or pursue a broader Journalism curriculum. The programme underpins practical production and broadcasting skills with theoretical insight into ethical and effective journalistic practice. You will learn general reporting, interviewing and writing skills to prepare you for the demands of the multi-platform news environment, and build your knowledge of national and local government, international relations, and civil and criminal law relating to the media. This programme is delivered by academics with a wealth of professional experience and has strong input from the sector. Accreditation is being sought for the programme from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC).
