This recently updated and revalidated degree is designed to give you the essential knowledge and practical experience to build a career in the exciting, fast-growing events industry.
The programme focuses on the development of operational and managerial skills across a range of events industry sectors, including project management, legislation and risk management – all essential skills for the professional events manager.
You will explore a range of event management processes and have direct involvement in the planning and staging of live events. A special feature of this course is the recently validated Festival Curriculum structure designed to bring students together to work on some exciting live event projects. The programme team have a close liaison with industry leaders and professional bodies/trade associations in the events industry such as ABPCO and NOEA ensuring that the programme remains up to date and relevant. Guest speakers from industry and governing bodies are a regular feature of the programme to enhance the learning experience for our students.
Volunteering and work-related opportunities are offered. Study abroad opportunities are available. Career choices include event manager; working in sports venues organising conferences; assisting large corporations to launch products; or fundraising for voluntary organisations.
