Course Summary

HND in Creative Media Production Film is a practical course that will vastly develop your filmography skills. Film practice based assignments are flexibly combined with a level of theory that enables students to understand both the professional standards expected of them, and Britain’s place in the global film market. Students will benefit from access to our excellent production and post-production facilities; a fully furnished professional studio, a range of up to date industry standard cameras and sound equipment, and excellent video editing rooms. An emphasis on real world vocational practices and briefs rests at the core of our teaching and learning within the HND, delivered by lecturers with both extensive academic and professional industry experience. **Year 1 modules could include:** - An individual project - Film production practices - Editing for film - Cinematography - Light and sound - Film studies - Professional practices - The Creative Media Industry **Year 2 modules could include:** - Advanced film production studies - Drama - Narrative - Advanced cinematography - Advanced editing for film and television - Advanced film criticism - A collaborative project Assessment for these units are entirely assignment based through the course work undertaken. Upon completion you can continue your studies with progression onto a Level 6 BA Hons course in; Film Studies, Moving Image, Media Studies or Film and TV. Alternatively, because of the industry focus of this qualification you can enter straight into your career from college. Possible fields include Film Production, Film Editing, Production Design and Script-writing.
