This programme prepares you for a career in sport and leisure industries. Sport and leisure provision is becoming one of the key global industry sectors and is prominent in most countries both at community levels through to elite and professional sport.

Course Details - Modules

Level 4/ Year 1 Provides an introduction to key issues and the vital underpinning skills for sport and leisure industries, this is complemented by the study of core business disciplines in leadership and marketing. Level 5 / Year 2 An applied internship is integral to year 2 and ensures that all students have the opportunity to develop industry skills and experience vital for sustainable employment. Past students have gained a placement with the WRU, FAW, Liberty Stadium, National Pool, Virgin Active and many other local, regional and international providers. Level 6 / Year 3 develops the themes of strategic sports management, sports development planning, entrepreneurship and sports events management. Students will also be required to complete an interesting and challenging industry research project.

Course Details – Assessment Method

The assessment strategy will aim to support the balanced development of key industry competencies and knowledge. Assessments will also aim to support the development in managing ICT, communication, numeracy, problem solving, interacting in teams, critical appraisal, self-management and leadership. Strategies will include a balance of assignments, fieldwork studies, practical assessments and where appropriate examinations.
