This course offers the opportunity to understand the fundamentals of Law that govern all aspects of life, and develops knowledge and understanding of the core schools of criminological thought, their historical and political foundations and practical application.
Course Details - Modules
Level 4 – Year 1: Legal Process, Public Law, Criminal Law, Academic Skills, The Public Services Environment, Social Theory, Policy and Practice. Level 5 – Year 2: Contract Law, Tort Law, European Law, Understanding, Crime, Justice and Punishment, Police, Policing and society, Understanding Policing. Level 6 – Year 3: Property Law, Equity and Trusts, Applied Legal Practice, Social Inclusion, Victimisation and Welfare, Operational policing, Research project
Course Details – Assessment Method
The course will be assessed by a mixture of written coursework and exams. Each module is worth 20 credits which would equal two assessments per module with the equivalent of a 2000 word assignment or an exam per 10 credits.
