Course Summary

This degree scheme offers students the opportunity to study global history from antiquity to the present day. With its broad geographical and chronological scope, students can cover anything from Spartan military techniques, via the Norman Conquest of 1066, to Obama care. It allows students to explore many different political, social, economic, military and cultural aspects of history. It combines a study of change over time in broad sweeping surveys, with more focused, topic-centred modules that focus on urban visual and soundscapes. Alongside this, students will gain a thorough grounding in economic theory. There will be a particular focus on environmental economics and the economics of transition to new energy sources, and the economics of a low carbon future.
