BA Television Production is an award-winning course that offers creative opportunities to explore all TV genres and distribution platforms. Students work across a wide range of projects from documentary and serial drama to commercials and entertainment formats. They receive intensive professional skills training in both multi-camera studio and single camera production techniques taught by experienced industry professionals and supported by highly rated academic researchers. The multi-camera studio is fully equipped with industry standard equipment featuring the Tri-caster 8000 live production system and Ikegami studio cameras. Our Cam-corders, Black-magic, Canon (Movie) and DLSR cameras support an HDV workflow. Editing is taught on Avid, Premiere and FCPX. The ethos of the course supports students in developing their professional practice underpinned by industry relevant media theory. Practical skills in editing, camera operations, sound recording, lighting and graphics are underpinned by critical analysis of the ever-changing globalised broadcast and digital media industries. This course is designed to prepare you for the challenge of a multi-skilled, mixed portfolio career, and our graduates have a high employment rate in many different roles and aspects of the media industries including the children's television, drama series, music video production, sports broadcasting, studio entertainment productions, TV commercials, the film industry and the corporate television sector. You will also gain the transferable and cognitive skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development.
