Chemical Engineering with International and Industrial Study
Course Summary
Our inspiring, exciting and challenging Chemical Engineering with International and Industrial Study MEng degree will see you spend both a year studying overseas and up to a year in industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to travel the world and gain industrial experience from the same degree programme.
This amazing degree course will see you spend both a year studying overseas and up to a year in industry: You will join a prestigious university in Europe – possibly Madrid, Rome, Berlin or Nancy – or further afield such as Australia (Brisbane or Melbourne), Canada (Montreal), Singapore or at one of the Universitas 21 group institutions. Either before or after your year abroad, you will gain invaluable experience working in industry. Companies currently offering placements include multinationals such as Shell, ExxonMobil, BP, Mondelez, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Pepsico, EDF, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca and British Sugar, City businesses and smaller companies such as Aspentech, CalGavin and Croda.
Project work – highly valued by employers – is a thread that runs throughout our degree programmes in order to create well-rounded chemical engineers. Problems are posed in a ‘real-world’ environment where decisions need to be made when data and information are scarce. As a Chemical Engineering with International and Industrial Study MEng student, your final-year research project will also give you the opportunity to take part in the School’s own world-leading research work, giving you an insight into how the subject is developing at the cutting edge.
