**This course is primarily designed for face to face learning with you attending your lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. The minimum qualification you need to gain entry to the course is at Level 3 in the subject(s) that you intend to teach. Applicants must have GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or Level 2 equivalent) before attending for interview. Those wishing to enter the Professional or Postgraduate Certificate in Education routes must hold a UK bachelor’s degree (or equivalent). You will need to demonstrate 5 days teaching experience in the classroom prior to interview. All applicants will need a work placement to gain the required 100 hours practical teaching experience; the course team will endeavour to find an appropriate placement for applicants subject to availability, an interview and two appropriate references. Applicants should also aim to complete a minimum of 5 days experience shadowing in an appropriate setting. A clean enhanced DBS check is also required.
