Course Summary
**This course is primarily designed for face to face learning with you attending your lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the Campus is closed TEC Partnership will continue to deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted with some lessons happening in small groups and others happening using online sessions and support.**

The BA (Hons) Design programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to create exciting and innovative work that will make you stand out.
Students build skills both traditional and digital which they can use to fulfil briefs created by themselves, clients, competitions and collaborations to ensure they have a final portfolio of varied work. As well as the degree show the best students have the chance to exhibit their work at New Designers in London where industry professional go to find new talent.
We have a wide provision of both digital and traditional tools with which the students can create. A well-equipped printing room is complimented by the varied tools in our 3D room which includes 3D printing, laser cutting and vacuum former.
The course is taught by industry specialists with many years of experience working for large well-known clients. This expertise ensures the students have all the skills needed to pursue successful future careers.

Year one of this course is designed to give you an introduction to the key areas of design, you will study:

Year two of this course is designed to give you a more specialist approach to the design disciplines. The year requires you to apply your knowledge to a number of areas:
• Studio Practice 2
• Contextual Studies 2
• Applied Digital Design
• Location Design
• Design Research
• Commercial Design
Year three is all about you critically applying your knowledge to your chosen specialist area:
• Dissertation
• Final Major Project – Pre Production
• The Creative Industry
• Final Major Project – Production
• Final Major Project – Exhibition

Assessments on this programme are varied, we look to challenge and build you skills in a number of areas during assessments, including creative research, practical studio work, essays, reports, visual presentations, group/client pitch and critical evaluations, to capture your imagination and allow you to develop in your chosen career pathway.

Additional Fee Information
Accommodation costs are £85-105 per week.
Additional costs would be for art equipment, all students should provide themselves with the basics for traditional methods of production for example a good set of drawing pencils, paper, acrylics, pens etc. Digital methods are provided by the college but some students like to have their own laptops.
Additional costs are kept to a minimum throughout the course however at level 6 students will need to provide themselves with professional level portfolios.
