This course is offered at the Jordanstown campus by the Faculty of Computing and Engineering. This course provides an opportunity to study technology in the context of design for the marketplace. It provides the skills, technical information, and market awareness to apply your creativity in the pursuit of innovation. Teamwork is at the core of all manufactured commodities and this course promotes an integrated approach to product development. A new generation of professionals will emerge from this course with an insight and the know-how to have a direct and positive effect on the way industry operates. The technology element is delivered by the School of Engineering at the Jordanstown campus and the design modules are delivered by the School of Art and Design at the Belfast campus.

Standard Qualification Requirements

To include one Grade B from GCE A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technology and Design, Design and Technology, Engineering or Double Award Science/Applied Science. Desirable subject offer - GCE A Level Maths, Further Maths or Physics. Applicants presenting any of the above desirable subjects will receive a two grade reduction at the time of offer e.g. BCC. The desirable subject can be achieved at grade B or C.

To include minimum of BB in Mathematics and a science subject.

The entry requirement for this course is successful completion of an Ulster University validated Access route in Science/Technology with Overall Mark of 65% and 65% in NICATS Mathematics (Level 2). Equivalent Mathematics qualifications considered for the Mathematics requirement. 120 UCAS Tariff points to include a minimum of four subjects at Higher Level and one subject at Ordinary Level. English language requirements for international applicants The minimum requirement for this course is Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5. Trinity ISE: Pass at level III also meets this requirement for Tier 4 visa purposes. Ulster recognises a number of other English language tests and comparable IELTS equivalent scores.
