The BEng Hons Engineering Management is a four-year, professionally accredited, undergraduate engineering course that is designed to equip you with a valuable blend of engineering and management skills. It provides you with a broad based education and includes studies in engineering technology and materials, manufacturing systems and processes, product and system design, complemented by studies in business and management. Optional subjects offer you the opportunity to pursue your particular interests. During your industrial placement year you experience and participate in real-life engineering and you learn how theory relates to practice. Successful completion of the placement leads to the award of the Diploma in Professional Practice (DPP) upon graduation. As professional engineers, graduates from the course are in high demand not only in manufacturing industry but also are employed in utilities, transportation, primary industries, consultancy and business.

Standard Qualification Requirements

With a minimum Grade B in one from GCE A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Technology and Design (CCEA), Chemistry, Single or Double Award Science/Applied Science or an Engineering subject area. Or alternatively Minimum of Grades BBB to include two from A Level Accounting, Biology, Business Studies, Computing, ICT, Design and Technology, Economics, Geography, Psychology, Software Systems Development or Digital Technology. Desirable Subject Offer - GCE A Level Maths, Further Maths or Physics. Applicants presenting any of the above Desirable Subjects will receive a two grade reduction at the time of offer i.e. BCC. The Desirable Subject can be achieved at grade C or B. See the GCSE subject and grade requirements including specific Mathematics grade required depending on the GCE A level subject presented.

To include minimum of BB in Mathematics and a science subject.

The entry requirement for this course is successful completion of an Ulster University validated Access route in Engineering/Science/Technology with Overall Mark of 65% and 65% in NICATS Mathematics Level 2. Equivalent Mathematics qualifications considered for the Mathematics requirement. 120 UCAS Tariff points to include a minimum of four subjects at Higher Level and one subject at Ordinary Level. Higher level Mathematics at minimum grade H5 and English at grade H6 is also required or English O4 and Maths O3 if not sitting HL. Higher Level subjects must include two from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics/Chemistry, Technology, Computing, Biology or Engineering.

English Language Requirements English language requirements for international applicants The minimum requirement for this course is Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5. Trinity ISE: Pass at level III also meets this requirement for Tier 4 visa purposes. Ulster recognises a number of other English language tests and comparable IELTS equivalent scores.
