This programme emphasises those aspects of economics which relate to the practical application of Economics today in policy making, management and firm behaviour & consumer decisions. This programme aims to provide students with the ability to apply economic principles and models to a wide range of issues as well as understanding the larger driving forces which shape economic and public policy. You will develop problem solving skills and become more adept in numeracy, IT and the use of statistical methods.

Overall Access profile of 63% to include 60% in NICATs Maths or GCSE Maths grade B/C* or 6/5.

A-level grades BCC if including A level Mathematics or BBC if not completing A level Mathematics.

The Scottish Highers requirement for this course is BCCCC to include minimum of grade B in Mathematics or grades BBCCC.

The Scottish Advanced Highers requirement for this course is CDD to include minimum grade C in Advanced Mathematics or grades CCD.

To include 12 points at Higher level

For applicants taking the QCF BTEC (first teaching 2010) the requirement will be DDD.

112 UCAS tariff points to include a minimum of five subjects (four of which must be at Higher level) to include English Language at grade H6 or O4 and Maths at Higher level H5 at Higher level or O3 at Ordinary level.
