This ‘flexi-learn’ online course has been developed to offer you an authentic sense of community, utilising a blend of communication tools including web-based/email delivery and ‘real-time’ online conversations and activities. You will have face-to-face contact with personal tutors, module staff and dissertation supervisors using web conferencing software, which you will be trained how to use before your studies begin. **TEACHING**
You will be expected to engage with online learning and teaching materials throughout the course. For your final dissertation, you will be supported through five 20-minute meetings with your supervisor via web conferencing software.
All modules include:
- ‘Live’ webinar sessions where you can meet module teaching staff
- Online video/text discussion forums where you can meet and work with other students
- A minimum of three ‘live’ classroom sessions (which will be video recorded for posterity)
- Weekly interactive learning and teaching content
You will need to allocate a minimum number of study hours per week, though some weeks may require you to extend beyond this, particularly when you are engaged in completing assessments.

At University College Birmingham, we consider applications from students who have studied, or are currently studying, a Higher Education course and now wish to transfer universities.

Consideration for advanced entry will be dependent on the modules of your previous course, and how well this matches to the content of the course you wish to transfer to at University College Birmingham. Academic: A relevant HND, FdA, Diploma of Higher Education or a higher level qualification in the areas of Early Years, Childcare or Advanced Practice with Children and Families, with 240 credits.

UK
Tuition fee loans are available to eligible Home students. This is a loan that you can take out from Student Finance to pay for your tuition fees. It is available to all students who meet specific residency criteria, regardless of household income.
However, if you have had previous Higher Education study this may affect your eligibility. If you are eligible, you can get a loan to cover the full amount of your tuition fees and it will be paid directly to University College Birmingham after you enrol on the course.
Repayments
The maintenance loan and tuition fee loans are repayable, but you will not enter repayment until the April after you finish or leave your course, or the April four years after the start of your course – whichever comes first. Repayments will only be deducted once you are earning more than £26,575 a year and you will repay 9% of anything you earn above this amount.
