Students on this exciting hybrid programme will gain the necessary knowledge and experience of design principles and fundamentals that underpin graphic design and illustration practice past and present. Using this as a foundation, you will apply creative thinking to real world design challenges, both in digital and in print. The course will suit those with a passion for drawing and creating or those who are interested in typography and layout or even better… a combination of both! You will have the opportunity to participate in ‘live’ projects, work collaboratively or in teams, and attend freelance and networking events. Upon successful completion of this course, you will have the confidence and ability to use your skills in numerous ways, choosing career paths such as graphic design, illustration, art direction (in graphics or advertising), animation, web-design, surface design, or participation in arts-based projects within the community. Alternatively you can progress seamlessly onto our Level 6 Top Up in Contemporary Creative Practice.
