This stimulating and challenging contemporary photography degree encourages you to develop technical photographic skills, as well as engage intellectually with the issues and debates relating to industry practices. With an emphasis on thorough theoretical knowledge and contemporary practice, you will explore and communicate your own approach to photography through independent, self-directed projects.

Course Details - Modules

Current units on this programme are Directions in Photography, Making Photography 1, Thinking Photography 1, Explorations in Photography at Level 4; Collaborative Photography, Making Photography 2, Thinking Photography 2, Inspired Photography at Level 5 and Self-Directed Project, Critical Research and Professional Identity at Level 6. Please note that the course will be under review in the academic year 2016-17 and some unit titles may change slightly as a result.

Course Details – Assessment Method

We use a wide range of assessment methods throughout the course. You will be encouraged to assess yourself and others as part of your studies. The course values self-evaluation and the ability to reflect on learning. You will receive regular verbal and written feedback throughout the year and there are key assessment points when summative feedback is provided.
