Course Summary

This course can be studied full-time over 1 year, achieving a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in International Travel and Tourism Management qualification, or over 2 years, achieving a Higher National Diploma (HND) in International Travel and Tourism Management qualification. The HNC (Level 4) course provides a thorough grounding in travel and tourism principles which is further enhanced at Level 5 (the HND course) where units cover a broader range of contemporary issues relating to a variety of professions within the travel and tourism sector. It equips individuals with commercial acumen along with the understanding, professional and personal skills for success in a diverse range of roles in the industry including marketing and sales management, operations management, tourism development management, visitor attractions management, events management or even setting up your own business. By completing a Higher Education (HE) level course you will develop appropriate academic study skills at degree level enabling progression to further professional qualifications in specific travel and tourism areas by mapping to units in a range of professional travel and tourism qualifications or jobs. Lessons are based in our dedicated HE blended classroom.

Course Details – Assessment Method

Delivery and assessment takes place using a variety of reflecting practices that are used in the industry so that you are not only qualified but work ready. Examples of activities which can contribute to the total qualification time include: Guided classroom based learning Independent research Compilation of a portfolio of work experience E-learning E-assessment Coursework Pre-recorded podcast or webinar Work-based learning. Approximately 13 hours per week class contact time

Standard Qualification Requirements

If you are taking 3 or more A Levels you can achieve the entry requirement of 48 UCAS tariff points across all of the A Level subjects you are taking.

You are required to achieve 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 credits at Level 2, totalling 60 credits.


You are required to have a minimum of 1 GCSE at Grade C or 4 in English. We will accept Level 2 equivalences for English in place of GCSEs. We encourage applications from students who do not meet the entry requirements outlined but can demonstrate ability through work experience, portfolio of evidence or successful interview.
