You study the core principles of sport leadership and fitness instruction, applying these in various practical settings throughout the course. You may have the option to complete vocationally recognised qualifications to prepare you for employment. A cost will be associated with the additional awards and successful completion of additional exams will be required. There is also the option of progressing onto the third year of Teesside University’s BSc (Hons) Applied Sport and Exercise degree. **After the course**: You should be well prepared for careers in sport and fitness when you graduate. You may also wish to further your education by progressing to the BSc (Hons) Applied Sport and Exercise degree at Teesside University. Career options are varied and include self-employment or jobs in the private and public sector sport and fitness industry.

The majority of modules are taught by a mixture of lectures, seminars and practical workshops. The Practical Experience in Sport and Fitness in Year 2 involves a placement (organised by the student) in either a school or exercise setting.
