Financial accountants offer a range of skills needed by businesses and are in constant demand, making the field of accountancy a rapidly growing career option. This exciting, fast-moving discipline provides excellent graduate prospects and opportunities to work in some of the most prestigious companies and accountancy firms. This course helps you train and develop your practical skills and business awareness for a successful business career. Studying accounting and finance doesn’t mean you have to become an accountant. Our graduates have the skills and expertise to move into other business roles including data analysist, tax advisor, and purchasing manager, and they progress up the career ladder in more strategic roles. With dual accreditation at Teesside University, as well as the degree you will receive a Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), which is the only chartered professional body for management and leadership. Dual accreditation means you will automatically receive a second professional qualification upon successful completion of your programme. Note: we are typically unable to accept direct entry into years 2 and 3 of this course due to the specific conditions of the exemption agreements with professional accounting bodies. **After the course**: The course is aimed primarily at students wishing to enter a finance-related career and many graduates have obtained trainee accountant positions in a variety of organisations locally, nationally and internationally. Holding an accounting qualification also provides a basis for entry into general management with excellent prospects to develop into strategic roles.
