Course Summary

This is an advanced initial degree in Osteopathy. Students successfully completing it will gain a Master’s level qualification which will: - Provide you with skills and competences necessary to become a registered osteopath. - Develop self-confidence and apply knowledge for practice within a safe environment - Promote evidence based practice, personal and professional development Business development and management skills are integrated throughout the programme, with guest speakers providing advice on business start-ups for those who wish to open their own practice. You also have the opportunity to work with University sports clubs to develop your employability and enhance your skills. You will benefit from small student cohorts allowing for a personal learning experience. Modules explore the structure and function of the human body and include psychology. The College has a fully functioning Osteopathic Clinic with four practice rooms featuring treatment beds/plinths, anatomical models, a client database and all the equipment needed to treat patients. The clinic is open to University staff, students and the general public, giving you the opportunity to obtain real-life experience. • The Masters Osteopathy course is ranked 1st in the UK for Complementary Medicine (Complete University Guide, 2018). • A variety of global summer placements are available to you. • AVERAGE EARNINGS: Osteopaths can expect a starting salary of around £25,000, with many working in private practice and salaries determined by number of patients. • ACCREDITATION: This course is approved by the General Osteopathic Council. Graduates must register with the GOC before they can work as an osteopath in the UK.
