Course Summary

Endorsed by the British Association for Sport and Exercise Science (BASES) - the professional body for sport and exercise science; this Sport and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) course will equip you with the skills to become a health sports professional, helping leading sports people to achieve their goals, or supporting the local community. The course explores the science in sport and exercise, considering how disciplines such as physiology, psychology and biomechanics can be used to improve performance and enhance well-being. And it won’t just be about sport - you'll be looking at different aspects of health and people at opposite ends of the health spectrum. You’ll be trained to respond to the challenges facing society today, such as obesity, by working in professions that encourage and support greater physical activity. This course is taught at our recently expanded £71 million City South Campus complete with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for you to access throughout your learning, such as a fitness suite, biomechanics lab, physiology lab, altitude chamber and nutrition kitchen.
