If you want to gain advanced knowledge of clinical aspects of neuroscience, this is the course for you.
You learn from experts from the Sussex Neuroscience research programme, which has links with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School. We have specialists in intelligence, genetic and molecular neural development, and learning and memory.
As part of the course, you benefit from our guaranteed interview scheme for medicine. And to support your career development, you study research methods and computing skills options.

Standard Qualification Requirements
A-levels must include at least one from Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics or Psychology.
If you are taking a science subject that has the separate science practical assessment, we would normally expect a pass. If you are not able to take the science practical assessment, your application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
You will normally need GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics and two Science subjects with grade 5 in each (or grade B).
Highers must include at least one science subject, with at least grade B. Ideally, you will have one of Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics or Psychology as an Advanced Higher.
You will also need Scottish National 5 in Mathematics and two sciences at grade B.
Pass Diploma with at least 39 level 3 credits at Merit or above including 21-24 credits at Distinction.
You will need substantial amounts of Level 3 credits in relevant sciences or have taken A-level science(s) alongside the Access course.
You will normally need GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics and two Science subjects with grade 5 in each (or grade B).
We take the EPQ into account when considering your application and it can be useful in the summer when your results are released if you have narrowly missed the conditions of your offer. We do not routinely include the EPQ in the conditions of your offer but we sometimes offer alternative conditions that include the EPQ. The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma would normally need to be in Applied Science and you will need to have opted for substantial numbers of modules in Biology-related topics.
Alternatively, you will need a relevant science A-level (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics or Psychology) alongside the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma.
