Course Summary

**About the course** You’ll gain a solid grounding in English law as well as exploring international, European and Canadian law. You can choose one language from Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese or Spanish. You also cover: - how the law regulates the relationship between the individual and the state - how the law responds to dealings between individuals and groups - theoretical and practical aspects of law. You’re taught by research-active faculty, and join a vibrant community with an active student law body. Through the Sussex Law Clinics, you can gain valuable work experience of the law in action before you graduate. We also have links with leading law firms that sponsor our student competitions in national and international mooting, criminal advocacy, client interviewing, negotiation, mediation and legal debating. Studying law develops your skills of analysis, argument and persuasion, equipping you for a variety of careers. Our supportive group of alumni are happy to provide career advice for current students. Standard Qualification Requirements

You should also have a broad range of GCSEs 9-4 (A*-C), including good grades in relevant subjects.

Pass Diploma with at least 39 level 3 credits at Merit or above including 21-24 credits at Distinction. The Access to HE Diploma should be in the Humanities, Social sciences or Business.

We take the EPQ into account when considering your application and it can be useful in the summer when your results are released if you have narrowly missed the conditions of your offer. We do not routinely include the EPQ in the conditions of your offer but we sometimes offer alternative conditions that include the EPQ.
