**About the course**
You'll cover a truly global range of issues, taught by experts. From migration and development, to conflict, inequality, geomorphology and climate change adaptation, we'll guide you as you develop your own sets of interests and expertise.
We also have an excellent choice of global field-trip destinations – recent trips include the Mojave Desert, Dubai, China and Greece. Even when you’re working closer to home, our setting – Brighton and the South Downs National Park – means you’ll learn both inside and outside the classroom.
Alongside your studies, get involved with the student-led prize-winning GeogSoc. It’s one of the largest societies on campus. They organise social events, trips abroad, talks from guest speakers as well as providing peer support.
**BSc or BA?**
We offer both a BSc and BA in geography at Sussex. The BSc is aimed at those who are particularly interested in geography from an environmental and natural sciences perspective, whilst the BA is aimed at those who are more interested in human geography and the social sciences. But whichever you choose, you’ll have the option to combine elements of physical and human geography if you wish.
**About Sussex**
Sussex graduates change the world. Our students become the leaders of the future, making discoveries, improving lives and changing things for the better.
Study with us to join a welcoming and inspiring community of staff and students from more than 140 countries.
**Location**
We shape the world from a fantastic campus on the UK’s beautiful south coast.
We are the only UK university surrounded by a national park, so you can step off campus to explore the hills and woodlands of the South Downs. The vibrant, colourful and creative seaside city of Brighton & Hove is just nine minutes away.
With Brighton voted the happiest city in England for students, (Student Living Survey, Sodexo, 2018) there can be few better places to study.
