Course Summary

Become a Primary School Teacher. Help young children develop a love for learning. Be the teacher they remember all their lives. BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS is a challenging degree which will develop your knowledge and skills in the broad range of curriculum studies qualifying you to teach at primary level. Placements in schools are an essential part of the course, accounting for a total of 70 credits. When you graduate you will be a fully qualified Primary School Teacher. Our course combines theoretical and practical learning. You will develop your knowledge of the role of the teacher and the needs of learners, and you will have dedicated modules that focus on Mathematics, English, Science, and other subjects that form a foundation for children’s education within a Primary School. You will have the opportunity to enjoy assessed placements in two school settings, in either 3-7 or 7-11 age range experiencing a variety of environments and contexts. **The School of Education have recently been voted 2nd in the U.K (1st in England) for it's Undergraduate Education courses according to the Guardian University League Tables, 2020.** We are extremely proud of this accolade. According to our most recent Ofsted report, some key strengths of our provisions are strong communication and positive relationships between the University and its partner schools, and the commitment of trainers in partnership schools to the all-round development of the trainees.
