Our highly-regarded Pharmacy course begins with a broad overview of the fundamental pharmaceutical and biological sciences. You will develop more specialised knowledge and skills in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, therapeutics, clinical management and patient-focused clinical skills. The course lasts four years and you will graduate as a Master of Pharmacy. The MPharm is the only qualification in the UK which leads to professional registration as a pharmacist. There is another route you could take to study Pharmacy at the University of Sunderland; we offer an **Integrated Foundation degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences F101** which is designed for applicants who just miss out on achieving the grades required for entry onto the full degree. Following successful completion of this foundation year (70%) and subject to the discretion of the Pharmacy admissions tutor you may be able to apply to transfer to our MPharm Pharmacy course. Any offer is dependent on availability of places and is subject to interview.

Standard Qualification Requirements

Must include Chemistry and one other science subject at Grade B or above.

Access to HE Diploma, pass with 45 credits at level 3. 30 Distinctions overall with 15 in Chemistry, and 15 in another science subject.

Must include a minimum of 4 Chemistry Units at Distinction. Optional units must include: Unit 13 – Applications of Inorganic Chemistry Unit 14 – Applications of Organic Chemistry Unit 19 – Practical Chemical Analysis All of which must be a minimum of Distinction.

120 UCAS points, including Chemistry and Biology at H3 or above.
