Course Summary

Play a vital role in improving the health of patients. Become an expert in the design, development and therapeutic use of medicines. Graduate and develop a fascinating and rewarding career, both holistically and financially. Our highly-regarded Pharmacy course begins with a broad overview of the fundamental pharmaceutical and biological sciences. You will develop more specialised knowledge and skills in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, therapeutics, clinical management and patient-focused clinical skills. The course lasts four years and you will graduate as a Master of Pharmacy. The MPharm is the only qualification in the UK which leads to professional registration as a pharmacist. There is another route you could take to study Pharmacy at the University of Sunderland; we offer an **Integrated Foundation degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences F101** which is designed for applicants who just miss out on achieving the grades required for entry onto the full degree. Following successful completion of this foundation year (70%) and subject to the discretion of the Pharmacy admissions tutor you may be able to apply to transfer to our MPharm Pharmacy course. Any offer is dependent on availability of places and is subject to interview.
