The Bachelor of Arts in Professional Accountancy is a 3-year honours degree designed for students holding advanced qualifications, who wish to pursue a career in accountancy. The degree provides significant exemption from the professional examinations of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Association of International Accountants (AIA) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
By studying towards this degree, you will learn that accountancy involves the preparation and interpretation of financial information to enable investors, lenders, management, employees, government and others to make financial decisions.
This degree programme is particularly attractive as it provides an excellent foundation towards establishing a career in professional accountancy, whilst simultaneously gaining a university degree and acquiring useful transferable skills such as communication skills and research skills.
The BA (Hons) degree in Professional Accountancy is a three-year Honours degree; please note that it is NOT accredited by ICAS
(Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland). Students wishing to obtain an ICAS accredited degree should register for the BAcc (Hons) in Accountancy or the BAcc (Hons) Accountancy and Finance degrees.
