Course Summary

All of our undergraduate law degrees are regulated by the SRA and compliant with the QAA Subject Benchmark Statement for Law, so they include the seven legal foundation subjects and the skills associated with graduate legal work. They therefore meet the requirements of the Academic Component of becoming a barrister, as well as the underpinning knowledge requirements for a wide range of legal careers. Our Law degree offers innovative, exciting challenges and provides opportunities to enter a wide range of law-related roles. From the opportunity to take part in mock trials to student conferences, the unique feature of this award is its student-centred, problem-based approach to learning. You’ll be offered a supportive, guided environment to practise skills for careers in the legal sector and to create awareness of the roles of law and lawyers in society. Aspiring advocates can choose to specialise in courtroom skills on our Bar Pathway, while potential solicitors can develop client facing skills through mediation and giving advice in our Law Clinic, with our Legal Professional Pathway. The Digital Pathway is ideal for exploring the impact on law of cutting-edge technologies. Or if you want maximum flexibility you can pursue your individual academic interests from a range of exciting options within and beyond Law. On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: LLB (Hons) Law, LLB (Hons) Law (Bar), LLB (Hons) Law (Professional), or LLB (Hons) Law (Digital).
