Our journalism and digital media course aims to make you ultra-employable, teaching the invaluable skills that employees need to survive and thrive in the industry. This course has a focus on three key areas of specialism: • journalism • media production • media publishing Within these strands it also covers everything from creative and technical skills, to planning and problem solving. More importantly, these practical and theoretical skills are utilised in nearly every modern business, meaning that whatever and wherever your future passions lie, you’ll be equipped to contribute as a valuable employee. This course also allows you to tailor your assignments within a variety of specialisms should you wish. This will mean that in your final year of study you can also receive recognition of your specific skills: Broadcasting Journalism Visual Journalism Podcasting and Radio PR Publishing This course will teach you to be an all-rounder in the studio or office environment, with modules covering subjects including copywriting, PPC and Google advertising, digital content production and planning, and design skills. You will use the most up-to-date Adobe creative software, media hardware, Google based applications, and social media platforms, and learn intricate and practical skills that modern communications industries crave. What You’ll Do: This course will give you the opportunities to manage content, written, visual and audio, for specific projects, publications and campaigns. You will gain the invaluable technical and practical skills and capabilities to prepare you for the journalism and media jobs of the future. In your final year, you will have the choice to focus on a specialist area of journalism and digital media. You have the choice to expand your knowledge in the production of podcasting and broadcasting, writing for a target audience, multi-platform journalism, managing digital content for PR campaigns, visual journalism, documentary film or digital PR and branded media.
