BA (Hons) Fashion Imaging will enable students to become highly creative, innovative and employable fashion imagemakers. By effectively embracing new and traditional technologies with an open and experimental approach, they will learn how to create exciting and challenging fashion imagery.
Students will be encouraged to experiment in technologies including photography, virtual and augmented reality, 2D & 3D drawing, moving image, animation and 360° video. In so doing, they will develop the skills to creative imaginative, sophisticated imagery within the fashion genre and beyond.
Fashion Imaging students will benefit from the university’s state-of-the-art facilities which, along with input from guest lecturers and work placement opportunities, will acclimatise them to industry practice. Being based within the School of Fashion & Textiles, collaborative opportunities with fashion students are plentiful and an important component of the course.
As students progress through the course, they will refine and focus their practice, empowered by modules that have been individually tailored to them. Throughout the course, they will be guided by staff with industry expertise across a range of disciplines, who have worked for the likes of: BBC, British Telecom, Ciffonelli Paris, The Condé Nast Publications, Footpatrol, Fulham FC, HSBC, Kering, Liverpool FC, Microsoft, Marie Claire, The Royal Society of Arts and The Sunday Times Magazine.
Employability is embedded throughout the course. Students will be taught critical skills through working on live briefs and in modules focussed on moving them into employment.
