This course provides an opportunity to develop the intellectual, creative and technical skills required to be a successful contemporary practitioner in the Graphic Design industry. Students will be provided training in the essential skills of visual communication including graphic design, illustration, print, typography, time based media and computer aided graphic design. Through this integrated approach students will be provided a foundation in the skills required for a range of careers in graphic design and related fields.

Course Details – Assessment Method
The course is unit based and consists of coursework which includes projects, including live briefs, and written assignments. A variety of assessment methods will be employed including sketchbooks, case studies, reports, time constrained assessments, essays and presentations. The assessment of BTEC Higher National qualifications is criterion-referenced and the College is required to assess learners’ evidence against published learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. A Pearson-appointed External Examiner confirms that our internal assessment is to national standards.
