Our MEng Computer Science degree can also be taken with an additional year in industry. The year in industry is taken after Year 2 or Year 3 and is assessed by academics and industry experts. This can be a great way to give you a competitive edge among graduate recruiters by showing you can relate your academic skills and knowledge to contemporary industrial practice. This five year MEng Computer Science degree with Industrial Studies builds on the three year BSc and will provide you with the core professional skills, knowledge and understanding that underpin computer science, enabling you to work in any area of the computing industry. Key areas of study include: programming languages, development environments, modelling tools, methodologies in capturing requirements, structuring applications and data achieving thorough program testing. Course Details - Modules

This four-year programme with a year in industry will enable you to pursue a career in any area of the computing industry. It has been designed to maximise student choice by allowing you to tailor the degree structure to suit your own interests. During the first two years you will undertake a series of core modules, for example Programming, Computer Systems, Data Management, Intelligent Systems and Interaction Design. In your third year you can choose from a wide range of optional modules that reflect the specialist areas and key technologies of computer science that will be critical in the future. You will also work on an individual project with the potential to explore cutting edge technologies and innovative applications. The fourth year particularly emphasises engineering design, management and industrial collaboration.
