Excluding General Studies

GCSEs: The University requires a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C to include Mathematics at grade B (Numeracy OR Mathematics in Wales), Science at grade C and Grade B (or equivalent) in either English Language, English Literature, Welsh Language or Welsh Literature. Where an equivalent to a grade B in either English Literature or Welsh Literature is achieved, a minimum of a grade C (or equivalent) must be achieved in the corresponding GCSE examination in English or Welsh Language. For those taking GCSEs in England, grade 5 is considered equivalent to a B and 4 is equivalent to a C. Temporary arrangements for 2022 applicants: Applicants with D grades in GCSE Mathematics/Numeracy and/or English Language/Welsh can be considered as long as you are currently studying that GCSE and are predicted to get C grades before the start of the course. We can also invite applicants to interview who currently hold C grades in these subjects. If you are offered a place on the course, you will be provided with support during the first year of study to pass a test to evidence that you have literacy and numeracy skills appropriate to the profession before the end of year 1. You will have 3 opportunities to pass this test. Failure to pass the test could stop you from progressing onto Year 2.
