This course is designed to prepare students for 21st century employment within the Sports and Leisure sector in a wide range of sport exercise and coaching industries aiming to work with a range of athletes from grass roots to professional / graduate training programmes. The course enables contemporary issues to be incorporated into learning and reflecting the complex environment that we live in. In addition, students will have the opportunity to develop skills such as those of analysis, evaluation, critical argument alongside problem solving and communication skills.
Studies will include the principles and practices for training, performance analysis, how to use sport as a catalyst for change within communities, and how to manage projects aimed at increasing physical activity and sport participation. In addition the course includes practical experience in real-world settings, from group coaching to individual performance development, ensuring you graduate as a confident and independent professional.

Course Details – Assessment Method
A range of assessment methods will be used including presentations, practical assessments, reports, essays, examinations, poster presentation and interventions. The assessment methods are designed for students to utilised relevant skills to aid in future employment or further study. Formative assessment which is used for development, includes online tasks, Q&A, group discussions in lessons and research tasks to develop academic reading and writing skills.
