This degree programme enables students to develop their own bespoke degree, selecting a combination of modules chosen from two of our specialist degrees targeting their own specific talents and interests. For example, sculpture and digital illustration; fashion and textiles; ceramics and jewellery and photography.
It can be on occasions, understandably difficult for students to choose a degree if they have diverse artistic strengths, interests and abilities, and selecting one specialist degree can mean that they forfeit one interest in the pursuit of another. The idea therefore that they may combine their talents under the umbrella of a Multidisciplinary degree can be very appealing.
However, it is not a degree to be undertaken without a great deal of thought. The Multidisciplinary student must be good at time management and be well organised. They should be willing to socialise and interact with a variety of student groups as their personal timetable will cross into different specialist programmes. This interaction between two distinct disciplines develops opportunities for innovation, enables students to work across both art and design contexts and lead to diverse, exciting and multifaceted creative practice.
