The Certificate of Higher Education in Animal Science programme is offered via distance learning on – line. There is an opportunity on completion of this certificate of progressing to Level 5 study on campus for the Foundation Degree in Animal Science or the BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare. This course provides the opportunity for students wishing to study via distance learning to develop core knowledge and key skills required for undergraduates aiming to or already working in animal related industries and to develop a range of skills, personal qualities and attitudes necessary to work successfully within the field of animal science. The course allows off site undergraduates the opportunity to broaden their knowledge in the underlying scientific principles of animal ethology, behaviour and physiology, and the application of this knowledge to welfare and conservation.

Entry will be granted to applicants who demonstrate the academic ability and potential to benefit from the programme, Students entering study will require a Level 3 qualification with a pass grade or above and preferably have undertaken some work experience with animals or have equivalent industry related experience or certification.
