Course Summary

Our School of Nursing and Midwifery produces world-class research that feeds directly into the teaching on this course. We will give you the grounding and the clinical skills you need to pursue a career as an adult nurse. And you’ll see first-hand how the latest research is applied in practice. You’ll develop your clinical skills in our purpose-built simulation facility, which includes mock wards, simulated theatres and simulated homes. Working in hospitals, communities and primary care settings in the region gives you valuable insight into local health needs and services. Our local health partners are Barnsley, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. You can visit each one before deciding where to go on placement. Graduates work in healthcare, healthcare management, research, patient advocacy and health education. If you want to go into nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or speech therapy, the degree is a solid foundation for postgraduate training.
