Course Summary

At Sheffield we train the whole team together. You will learn alongside dental hygiene and therapy students in a way that prepares you for practice. Our outreach programme is outstanding: it gives you experience in surgeries and community health centres, not just training clinics. Teaching is driven by world-class research. The School of Clinical Dentistry at Sheffield is among the Russell Group top ten for research output, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014. Some staff are internationally recognised for their research. Others are practitioners with years of clinical experience. Our graduates work in both NHS and private practices, and in the community dental service. Some go on to further training and become specialists, consultants or researchers.
