Sport development means the ability to understand the needs of others and developing a creative, logical mind set in order to provide opportunities for sport to be successful. **How you learn** All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. You gain vital knowledge and skills required for a professional career within sport or the wider employment sector. The course will push you to be a confident and creative communicator in addition to developing and then applying your leadership, business and research skills within a sport development setting. We are eager to provide additional opportunities where possible for you to obtain complementary awards to support your future goals. This has previously included the Level 2 Multi-Skills Award which has enabled students to coach for one of our many partner organisations. You learn through * lectures * seminars * tutorials * project supervision * professional conferences * practical classes * field trips * external speakers There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus+ programme (until 2023) or the Turing Scheme. **Applied learning** **Work placements and professional development** We offer you a six-week placement experience with major local and national partner organisations, including national governing bodies of sport, local school PE departments, local authority sport development units, County Sport Partnerships and overseas programmes in a variety of countries. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to apply for sport-related internships and leadership development programmes which will compliment your studies. At all times we will ensure that you have access to develop your employability skills during the 3 years that you are with us Our staff and Careers Advisors will also provide you with support to develop a professional profile, enabling you to apply for work whilst at University and once you graduate. **Networking opportunities** You have the opportunity to take part in our annual Sport Development with Coaching Professional Development Week where you meet and talk with a range of sport industry professionals, many of whom are our alumni graduates who return to advise you on how they got their first job and what you can do to develop yourself professionally. You also have the opportunity to develop your resilience and team-building skills on an Outward Bound Day.

From two A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications. We accept General Studies. For example: MMM in BTEC Extended Diploma. A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels, EPQ or general studies.
