On this course, you'll learn about cyber security from penetration testing to ethical hacking and network intrusion. Upon graduation, you'll have attained specialist credentials, and be ready to tackle real cyber security threats. **How you learn** All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. On this specialist course in cyber security, you develop professional understanding, insight and skill in computer and information security. You'll work with industry employers and expert staff, cementing both your practical and theoretical knowledge. Assessments are varied, and include reports, presentations, demonstrations, discussions and online activities. You learn through - lectures - seminars - practical tutorial sessions **Applied learning Live Project** Our students have the unique opportunity to apply the knowledge that they are gaining from the course by working with local organisations and businesses. We work in partnership with the North East Business Resilience Centre (NEBRC), which is a non-profit organisation aiming to support and help protect regional businesses from cyber crime, by employing our students to deliver specialist services during their studies. The NEBRC was established in 2019, funded by a variety of Private and Public Partners including the Police, as well as a wide range of business investors and members across England. **Networking opportunities** We are a member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec) Academic Partner Programme which accredits our course to industry standard, providing opportunities to collaborate and ensure the effective promotion of information security professionalism to academics and students. The CIISec is the only pure play information and cyber security institution to have been granted Royal Charter Status. This partnership supports our students to create contacts and develop their network within the cyber security community as well as access to a world-class speaker track and network with prospective employers. We host a range of events and training sessions to provide the networking opportunities for students and employers.

Standard Qualification Requirements

This must include at least 64 points from two A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications. For example: BBC at A Level. DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma. A combination of qualifications, which may include AS Levels, EPQ and general studies

Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above, from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.
