Please check the Sheffield Hallam University website for the latest information.** **Course summary** - Study your foundation year, then progress to a degree with industry accreditation from the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA). - Develop specialist financial knowledge in areas such as global financial markets, risk management and corporate governance. - Learn how to understand, interpret and critically evaluate financial information, as well as build skills in business management vital for careers in management at senior levels and beyond. The overall aim is to give you a sound training in business and to focus on the importance of finance and financial markets in helping to build successful, profitable and sustainable businesses. **How you learn** All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BA (Hons) Business and Financial Management course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree. The course takes a highly practical approach to learning and teaching. For this reason learning takes place in a wide variety of settings. You learn through - engaging with real-world business problems - presenting to business entrepreneurs and owners - one-on-one coaching with tutors - collaborative team working on live projects In the foundation year, you'll study wider business topics, while specialising in your chosen subject area. You'll learn useful skills such as academic writing, work in diverse teams and learn to utilise a wide variety of data sources. In doing so, you'll fully prepare yourself for undergraduate study. **Applied learning** **Work placements** You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your third and fourth years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. **Live projects** You meet business entrepreneurs with real-world business problems and under the guidance of tutors are expected to study and propose workable solutions to the client organisations.

Standard Qualification Requirements

This must include at least 32 points from one A level or equivalent BTEC National qualifications excluding general studies For example: CC at A Level MPP in BTEC Extended Diploma. A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels and EPQ.

Normally we require 15 credits at level 2 and 45 at level 3. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.


Please note the University will only admit students who are aged 18 or over at the point of enrolment.

For an indication, our tuition fee for UK students starting full-time undergraduate study in 2021/22 is £9,250 per year. During your placement year you will pay a reduced fee of £1,200.
