Course summary** - Study your foundation year, then progress to the full degree. - Learn essential business management skills. - Prepare for an exciting honours degree course — which includes opportunities to learn a language and study abroad. - On this course, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence you need to study Airline and Airport Management. You’ll learn useful business, communication, digital and research skills, and familiarise yourself with Sheffield Hallam. Upon completing your foundation study, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running on a full honours degree. **How you learn** - All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. - You’ll take modules that test your independent study skills, as well as traditional lectures, seminars and group work. You’ll receive face-to-face feedback regularly. - Throughout the course, you'll learn through many of the same techniques used on the degree, and familiarise yourself with Sheffield Hallam and its facilities. **You learn through** - lectures - seminars - problem-solving activities - group and individual work - Applied learning **Degree preparation** After the foundation year, you’ll be ready to start the full degree. Airline and Airport Management is a dynamic, engaging and practical course that allows you excellent experience of the aviation industry. **Work placements** You have the opportunity to undertake a year-long work placement in your third year of study. This gives you real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. Please note Aviation businesses carry out pre-employment security clearances and this is outside the control of Sheffield Hallam. The basic security clearance (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requires the verification of the following four elements: identity, employment history (past five years), nationality and immigration status, criminal record (unspent convictions only). For more information, please visit the Civil Aviation Authority website. **Live projects** As part of the course, you get the opportunity to work on real business projects to build your skills and professional experience. **Networking** You will frequently engage with airline and airport industry stakeholders throughout your study via industry guest talks and field trips. Field visits may require security checks. **Future careers** After you complete the foundation year and full degree, you’ll be prepared for a career in - operations management - human resource management - customer experience management - business support - sales and marketing

Standard Qualification Requirements

This must include at least 32 points from one A level or equivalent BTEC National qualifications excluding general studies For example: CC at A Level MPP in BTEC Extended Diploma. A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels and EPQ.

Access to HE Diploma from a QAA recognised Access to HE course. Normally we require 15 credits at level 2 and 45 at level 3. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.


Please note the University will only admit students who are aged 18 or over at the point of enrolment.
