This course offers a variety of opportunities to develop your employability skills for highly skilled employment in the aviation industry. You have the opportunity to undertake a year-long work placement in your third year of study. This gives you real-world experience to prepare you for your future career.
Please note Aviation businesses carry out pre-employment security clearances and this is outside the control of Sheffield Hallam. The basic security clearance (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requires the verification of the following four elements
* identity
* employment history (past five years)
* nationality and immigration status
* criminal record (unspent convictions only)

**Live projects**
As part of the course, you get the opportunity to work on real business projects to build your skills and professional experience.
**Networking**
You will frequently engage with airline and airport industry stakeholders throughout your study via industry guest talks and field trips. Field visits may require security checks.

Standard Qualification Requirements
This must include at least 64 points from 2 A Levels or equivalent BTEC qualifications. For example:
CCC at A Level
MMM in BTEC Extended Diploma.
A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies
Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above, from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.

Our tuition fees for UK students starting full-time undergraduate study in 2022/23 are regulated by the UK government and are yet to be confirmed. For an indication, our tuition fee for UK students starting full-time undergraduate study in 2021/22 is £9,250 per year. During your placement year you will pay a reduced fee of £1,200.
