This is a one year course that is held at the Hillsborough Campus of The Sheffield College. The Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Management is designed to develop students into professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the business sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. Equipping students with business skills, knowledge and the understanding necessary to achieve high performance in the global business environment. Units covered: Business strategy (15 credits) Looking at the different kinds of strategy used in an operational, tactical or strategic role for an organisation. Understanding and leading change (15 credits) This is to prepare students to anticipate, plan and deliver organisational change. Organisational behaviour (15 credits) To develop a students' understanding of the influence of culture, power and politics have on the behaviour of others in an organisation. Students will study a total of 7 units in this year, one of which is a research project worth 30 credits and runs throughout the year. Entry Requirements: In order to study on this programme, you must have at least a grade 4 or above in both GCSE English Language and Maths, or an equivalent i.e. IELTS at 6.0. You will also need a relevant Level 3 qualification (either A Levels or BTEC) with a minimum of 48 UCAS points. You should have already completed a Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent university level qualification with a minimum grade of Pass/40% or above. Work related experience will also be considered. Assessment: The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Business Management is assessed using 100% course work. This includes presentations, essays, written reports and professional discussions.
