This one year course has been developed to enable the education and training for a range of careers in animal management and allied land-based industries. You will study a variety of topics that will form a strong grounding in the field of animal management, such as animal husbandry, health and welfare/animal nursing and animal behaviour. The course provides opportunities for learners to concentrate on the development of higher-level skills in a land-based context and how their role and that of their business fits within the overall structure of the land-based industries, the national and international economy and the global overview. This qualification equips individuals with knowledge, understanding and skills for successful employment in the animal management and allied industries. The course enables progression to an undergraduate degree or further professional qualifications in related areas. The course also provides opportunities for specialist study relevant to individual vocations and contexts.
