**"This fun and comprehensive degree has provided a wealth of options for travel and work experience in animal care and conservation, with excellent networking opportunities. I highly recommend this programme for anyone looking to become an animal care or conservation professional as it is full of once-in-a lifetime experiences!"** Samantha BSc(Hons) Graduate
For the consecutive year, SGS has been voted **number 1 for overall degree satisfaction in Bristol!** (National Student Survey 2020 and 2021)
This BSc Zoological Management and Conservation is the top-up year to our 2 year FdSc Zoological Management programme. Students can also apply for this top-up degree from other relevant Foundation Degrees or HNDs.
You will be **taught within Bristol Zoo** in the Higher Education complex of the Conservation Education Centre and also have the opportunity to attend our University Centre WISE (UCWISE) at our WISE Campus. It is an exciting time to study with us as you will **experience first-hand** the transitioning of Bristol Zoo Gardens to the new Bristol Zoo, currently Wild Place Project, and have the **unique opportunity to learn how a new zoo develops**. This experience will provide you with a set of key skills in zoological management that no other HE programme in this field can offer. Based in Clifton, at the edge of the Bristol city centre, you will spend your days among a variety of exotic and endangered species as well as having the opportunity to experience the wide variety of events and activities that the city has to offer.
Students learn through a variety of lectures, workshops, tutorials and field work. Students benefit from talks by visiting lecturers, Bristol Zoo staff and appropriate field visits. Previous students have benefited from trips within the UK and excursions abroad and subject to Government guidance it is hoped that these will return in the near future.
