This part-time Foundation Degree Digital Media Production, is designed for students who are committed to pursuing a career in Digital Media Production. Taught in the lively and creative city of Bristol, our students are never without inspiration or opportunities to get involved within the wider community.
This degree aims to provide you with the expert knowledge of cutting-edge technology and methods that are shaping the creative industries. By combining theory, practical skills and professional experience, we will aim to open up an unbeatable range of career opportunities for our students.
This degree has a strong emphasis on engagement with the local media industries and allows students to ground their experience in contemporary practice. Each of the project based modules will be rooted with a live commission or competition and will have published outcomes.
This degree is taught in a variety of different ways. In workshops, you will learn skills in camera operation, app and web design, film and sound editing. You will also learn how to use new media technologies. In seminars and lecture-based sessions, students will gain an understanding of critical theory, to help them to become an informed practitioner. All assessments are done via coursework and there are no formal examinations.
This FdA is the equivalent of the first 2 years of a full degree and is a qualification within its own right. However, most of our students will continue onto a one year top up course for their full degree. Graduates will enter a vibrant, expanding industry that offers a wide range of employment opportunities.
